Slow WordPress Site?
We Find What’s Dragging It Down

Clients complaining about load times are a headache you do not need. We diagnose the root cause and fix it in one session — no guessing, no endless back-and-forth.

TL;DR
Diagnosis and fix in one session. We find the actual cause — bad plugins, no caching, wrong hosting, outdated PHP — and fix it while we are in there.
  • Root cause identified, not guessed at
  • Caching configured if missing
  • Problem plugins found and dealt with
  • Fixes applied in the same session

Who this is for

Web designers and agencies managing client WordPress sites where something is clearly off with load times but pinpointing the cause is eating up time you do not have.

A client is complaining about load times
Client feedback about a slow site is a relationship risk. We get in, diagnose what is causing it, and fix the underlying problem so you can get back to your actual work.
The site got slower after a plugin update
A plugin update or new install is one of the fastest ways to tank site performance. We audit the plugin list, run timing tests, and track down the offender.
PageSpeed or Core Web Vitals are failing
A bad PageSpeed score is usually a symptom of a fixable underlying problem. We focus on what is actually slowing the site down rather than chasing a number with superficial tweaks.
The site has no caching set up
A WordPress site with no caching serves a fresh PHP request for every single visitor. Setting up caching is often the single fastest fix and something we do in one session.
You suspect the host is the problem
Cheap shared hosting has a ceiling. If the site is well-optimized and still slow, the host may genuinely be the bottleneck. We test and confirm it, then give you specific migration recommendations.
Something changed and now it is slow
A hosting migration, a theme update, a new plugin, or a WordPress core update can all introduce unexpected slowdowns. We trace what changed and what it broke.

What we look at and fix.

We do not run a checklist and hand you a report. We diagnose the actual problem and fix it in the same session so the site is faster before we leave.

Plugin Audit
Too many plugins or a single badly coded one can tank performance. We test each plugin's impact, identify the offenders, and recommend alternatives or remove what is not needed.
Caching Setup
If there is no caching layer in place, adding one is often the fastest single fix. We configure WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, W3 Total Cache, or Cloudflare caching depending on the hosting environment.
PHP Version Check
Running PHP 7.4 on a site in 2025 is leaving significant speed on the table. PHP 8.x is measurably faster for WordPress. We check the current version and coordinate the upgrade if the host supports it.
Image Diagnosis
Oversized images are one of the most common reasons for a slow site. We identify unoptimized images, check for missing lazy loading, and recommend or configure compression tools to fix it.
Database Cleanup
WordPress databases accumulate post revisions, transients, and spam comments over time. A bloated database slows down every query. We clean it up and optimize the tables.
Hosting Review
Shared hosting has real limits. If the server itself is the bottleneck, no plugin will fix it. We test server response times and tell you clearly whether the host is the problem and what to move to.
Theme and Script Audit
Bloated page builders, unused CSS frameworks, and render-blocking scripts all hurt load time. We identify what is loading unnecessarily and reduce or defer it where possible.
Cloudflare Configuration
If the site is on Cloudflare, there are caching, minification, and optimization settings that make a measurable difference. We check and configure these as part of the session.
Before and After Benchmarks
We run speed tests before we start and again after we are done so you can see the actual improvement. You get a clear picture of what changed and why.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our WordPress speed fix service.

Why is my WordPress site so slow?
The most common causes are too many or poorly coded plugins, unoptimized images, no caching layer, slow shared hosting, an outdated PHP version, and a bloated or poorly built theme. Most slow sites have two or three of these problems at once. A proper diagnosis takes less than an hour and usually reveals the main culprit quickly.
Can you fix a slow WordPress site without rebuilding it?
Yes, in most cases. The majority of WordPress speed problems are fixable without touching the theme or rebuilding anything. Plugin audits, caching setup, image compression, and PHP version upgrades can all be done without a redesign.
Will you run a full Core Web Vitals audit?
We focus on diagnosing and fixing the root cause of slowness rather than chasing specific PageSpeed scores. In most cases fixing the underlying problem also improves Core Web Vitals significantly. If you need a deep CWV optimization engagement, that is a different scope of work and we can talk through it.
Do you set up caching plugins?
Yes. If the site does not have a caching layer, setting one up is often the single fastest fix. We work with WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache, LiteSpeed Cache, and Cloudflare's caching layer depending on what the host supports.
What if the problem is the hosting?
If the host is the bottleneck we will tell you clearly and give you specific recommendations for what to move to. We work with clients on migrations to faster hosts all the time — it is one of the most impactful changes you can make.
How long does a speed diagnosis session take?
Most diagnoses take 30 to 60 minutes. Fixing what we find usually adds another 30 to 60 minutes depending on what is involved. Most sessions wrap up in about two hours or less.
Do you work on sites built by someone else?
Yes. That is the norm. We do not need to have built the site to diagnose what is making it slow. Give us access and we will take it from there.
What access do you need?
WordPress admin access is the main thing. Hosting access (cPanel, Plesk, or SFTP) is helpful for checking server configuration and PHP version. If you have Cloudflare on the domain, access to that account helps too.
